Mission Statement

The Department of Systems Biology is committed to fostering a department where everyone can thrive and is a community that draws upon the widest possible pool of talent to unify excellence and diversity. We are a department that seeks to fully embrace individuals from varied backgrounds, cultures, races, identities, life experiences, perspectives, beliefs, and values. To that end, our established core goals are:

  1. Using our influence to work for real change at all levels within HMS and outside of it.

  2. Being accountable for actions and conduct within the scientific community- past and present- and working toward abolishing systems that impact minorities.

  3. To develop a conceptual and predictive understanding of the living world, to enable the design and control of biological systems and the advancement of all human health and welfare.
